CZECH REPUBLIC  - CHRISTMAS IN BRNO

At the beginning of December, we were finishing our five-month tour of Asia. According to our original plan we were to continue from India directly to Africa. However, the prediction of Marek's mom that we would be home for Christmas came true.

Even though Marek did not withstand the move back to civilization and felt sick shortly after coming home, he recovered within a few days and the rest of our stay was wonderful. We were royally taken care of, our moms were happy to prepare delicious meals for us and it felt great to be with our families again.

Before leaving for our world tour last summer, we were worried that we will not enjoy any of the joys of winter this year. But we did. In early January, we spent four days skiing in the Austrian Alps. We drove to Flachau near Salzburg and on the day of our arrival we even got a glimpse of a world cup competition that was taking place there. On the last day, when we were delighting ourselves with the beautiful views of surrounding  snow-covered peaks, we had a strange feeling that only in four days we should be in equatorial Africa.

Despite really enjoying our time at home, at the end we were looking forward to further explorations. We modified our itinerary to fit into the original time schedule, rebooked our flight tickets and set off.
