Hang Dau Go is one of the few beautiful caves in the bay. During the war, Vietnamese soldiers used this cave as a cover from American bombing.

One of the valleys on Cat-Ba island - the largest island in the bay. People live in this valley and cultivate rice.
The best reward for our 15km hike on Cat-Ba island was a beautiful view over the hills of the bay and down to the village deep underneath us.

Sapa
The little town of Sapa lies in 1900 m above see level. Above it is the highest mountain range in Vietnam and below is a beautiful valley with rice fields.
Terraced rice fields can be found in most of the valleys around Sapa

It is better to take a cover from a suspicious tall tourist
Our digital cameras always generated lots of curiosity. Especially when we were showing children their own pictures. It was one of the ways to establish contact.
As the people of minority tribes with their colorful cloths are an attraction for us, in a village off the tourist trail we are an attraction for them. When we entered the village, everybody left their work and came to take a look at us.
