Drive to Colorado

On our way from Minneapolis to Colorado we hit a major winter storm that paralyzed most of the Midwest and brought some severe thunder storms and damaging tornadoes to the southern states. We made it through the beginning of an ice-storm and then waited at our friends in Iowa City until the weather passed.

As we drove, the car was covering up in ice - keeping windshield wipers functional was especially challenging.

After a night in Iowa City, our car was completely covered in ice.

Two nights later we decided that the roads were clear enough and continued our trip. We have seen dozens of trucks and cars stuck in snow.
